Three Trees Barista Blend

As the first truly clean barista blend on the market, Three Trees knew that their innovative non-dairy milk needed a bottle whose look and feel matched the originality and wholesome nature of the almond-oat milk itself. Up to the challenge, I worked closely with the team at Olio Studio to create a packaging solution that aligned with Three Trees values, mission, and their other reputable non-dairy milk products.

Inspired by nature.

We began with ideating. A LOT of ideating. We wanted the packaging to be as innovative as the product itself, but also to exude a sense of comfort and luxury, like a perfect latte made at home. Three Trees commitment to whole, natural ingredients and their belief that true nourishment comes directly from nature inspired us to embrace the color green and loose, organic shapes within the design. I drew leaves with Japandi-inspired patterns and created circles with rough edges and textures to emulate a natural feel.

The perfect pour.

The cup itself was an absolute treat to work on. I explored everything from highly detailed cups to swirling iced coffee in tall glasses, and we landed on a simplistic and bold mug, reminiscent of block printing techniques. Its bold nature allows for the latte art within it to truly shine. Wanting to maintain the iconic image of the three trees that’s seen on all previous Three Trees products, but also aiming for this new packaging to look as creamy and delicious as the barista blend tastes, I transformed the image of the tree threes into irresistibly foamy latte art.

An innovative look for an innovative new beverage.

Keeping the overall layout of the new bottle the same as their other non-dairy milk products, particularly the text and info on the side and back panels, was crucial for maintaining brand consistency. We wanted to ensure that customers could immediately identify this barista blend as belonging to the Three Trees milk line, but also wanted the new design to stand out on the shelves.
