California Roots
Deer friends,
I’ve been working on building this small collection for months now and it’s finally time to share it with you! The collection includes prints, totes, and will soon also include some wearable items! I wanted to create these designs with room to grow. Over time I’ll add more locations to the collection. A few in the line up right now are Laguna Beach, San Luis Obispo, and the Bay Area, but more on that later.
This new collection features a compilation of native plants and animals in my signature colorful, folksy illustration style. This release includes California, San Clemente, and Dana Point. Prints and totes are currently available for purchase here.
All of my art is a form of personal expression, but this collection feels especially close to home. Illustrating in this style reminds me of the colorful children’s books I obsessed over in my childhood, and noting and researching the native plants and animals felt reminiscent of the observation notebooks I kept as a kid. When it comes down to it, making this collection was really just making art that I know younger me would have gone giddy over. And I hope that joy resonates with you.

California Flora and Fauna
Digital drawing, 2024
Inspired by the diverse flora and fauna along Southern California’s coast, this print features native species such as the Common Dolphin, the California Poppy, seaweed, California Bush Sunflower, and the Garibaldi (the state fish!). Illustrated in a contemporary folk style, this piece is the perfect addition to any bohemian or coastal inspired living space.
Dana Point Flora and Fauna
Digital drawing, 2024
Matching the style and concept of the California and San Clemente Flora & Fauna prints, this print features native species such as sea lions, sting rays, seaweed, California Bush Sunflowers, and other plants and animals commonly seen in Dana Point harbor and the surrounding area. Illustrated in a colorful, contemporary folk style, this design is beautiful framed on a wall solo or paired with the other prints in the collection.
On to the next…
This week’s inspo roundup is bright and colorful and representative of Spring. Blooming flowers found on pages, plates, walls, quilts, you name it. Lately I’ve been craving color the way one craves a really good meal. My default used to be working with neutrals, but over the last couple years my personal art style has become more and more colorful, and I’m rolling with it.
I’ve been dreaming of painting a mural. Imagine flowers and patterns and colors floor to ceiling. Agh! One day. Until then you can find my colorful work on a much smaller (and wearable— hey totes!) scale, and you can find me collecting all the colorful art and lifestyle inspo over on Pinterest.

This week’s inspo:
With each new release I feel my desire to create grow, and I feel myself growing more in tune with myself and my own artistic process. Sharing those creations is part of me sharing that joy with you. So, I hope you enjoy.
All the best,
Morgan
